How can you remove the fan to replace it and what is the part name of the control that operates the fan and how can I determine if the part is bad?
If your refrigerator is turned on and the compressor is running your freezer fan should be running unless the fan motor is bad.
To take a look at the fan motor.
1. Unplug the refrigerator.
2. Open the freezer door.
3. Clean the freezer out.
4. Remove ice maker, if you have one in the freezer.
5. Remove the back panel inside the freezer.
If you have a meter you can check to see if you have power to the fan motor, but like I said if your refrigerator is on and the compressor is running that fan should be running to, unless it's bad.
If the freezer is not defrosting there could be frost build up around the fan keeping it from turning, but your freezer will be a bit warm too if that is the case.
You will be able to check for frost build up around the fan once you take the back panel off so you can see the fan motor.
