Miele Dishwasher has plastic melted to drying/heat strip
« on: January 13, 2009, 09:37:07 AM »
A plastic vacuum seal bag fell through to the heat strip at bottom and melted.
Although I was able to remove most of it there is still a minute film layer remaining "fused" to the element and will emit a plastic burn smell when used.
I have washing it over and over trying to remove and melt it off, no luck.

Is there any way to remove the film reminants?
If so is it safe to remove the element an does anyone have the repair steps or guide (not in owners manual)?
