Yes, very easy. Just unplug the old part and plug in the new one.

You should order the Start Relay and Overload.
The overload plugs in with the start relay.

There is the chance you have a bad compressor, but you will need a ohm meter to check it.

Chance are it's just the start relay/overload that needs to be replace.

If you do by chance have a ohm meter check the compressor to make sure it's not shorted to ground.

If you have no meter, order the parts and try them.

Enter your model number in the top left search box's to find your parts.

Thank you so very much.  Other than the ohm meter.  Would there be any other way to know if it is the compressor?  Would the burning electrical smell be the relay switch? It sounds like you want me to replace to switches?

No, other then replacing the start relay to see if the clicking noise goes away and the compressor starts running. :)

That's correct. Most of the time the start relay and overload come together as one repair kit.

After taking a quick look at your model I see they listed them as two different parts.

The start relay and overload both mount together on the side of the compressor.

Thank you again you are a life saver!  Can I leave the refrigerator going?  If I do will it hurt the compressor? It is still blowing some cold air.

No, turn it off, unplug it, clean it out and leave the doors open so it can air out.

Then the compressor is bad.

At this point you would need to replace the compressor to repair it.
You would need to have a technician do the work and unless the compressor is under warranty it's not going to be worth the cost to repair it.
