This is a Frigidaire washer JW, why in the hell would he use the whirlpool agitator dogs you listed the part number for?

When the washer is agitating does the motor sound like it's running?

Actually the model looks like a gibson now that you brought it to me attention. That has to be the timer. Just a guess.

the motor does run but spends on belt  and when I turn the drum by hand it will only go in one direction

If it is spinning and pumping as you say, the motor works.
Remove the front panel. Set the timer to wash and observe what the motor does.

This brand is notorious for belt wear, usually due to overloads.
You may only need to replace the belt.

The idler locks up on them washers and their is supposed to be 2 springs associated with it, a short fat one and a longer skinny one.
