Kenmore Ultra Wash Diswasher

Our diswasher seemed like it ran through a cycle yesterday however I opened it this morning to empty dishes and the dishes were not cleaned and the water was still in the bottom of the diswasher. I tried to cancel/drain it and it clicks and sounds like it's trying to but it just shuts off and will not drain  . Can you give me some ideas to try to resolve this?  Thanks, Dave.

Got it, needed some serious cleaning out it was plugged and couldn't complete drain cycle, I just cleaned it out works great now.
Sorry to have posted in the wrong spot, thanks anyways. I'm sure at some point I'll be back. Dave
