Maytag Gemini Stove

Can someone tell me how to get the glass top of the smooth surface Maytag Gemini range open to replace a burner heating element?  Is it difficult?  I cannot not find a model number in the usual places such as the oven doors or jams of the oven doors so I cannot find out the part number of the heating element.  The left rear element (large one) is not working and I would like to fix it before Thanksgiving.

That manual is specific to the electric range - can you get a similar manual for the gas convection range?

We were cleaning ours when suddenly the stovetop controls began to spark and short.

I want to open the top of the range, but can't figure out how to.

If you can find your model number I maybe able to come up with something better.

If you run your hand along the top of the oven I think you will find a metal tag that is held in place with one screw. You can rotate this tag so it will pop up were you can see the model number on it.

The upload manual does not specifically address my model; Maytag Gemini MER6875BAS.  I assume removing the top is the same but my model has a different control panel and the right front burner is a triple element.  Only the outer ring of the triple element heats up.  I need to determine if it is the element that is bad or the controlling switch is bad.

I seem to remember seeing something once that gave test points and resistance values for each element of the burner but can't fine them again.

Also here are the element if you need to order it.

They list three different switches, not sure what one is correct for the triple burner. Maybe able to find a part number on the old switch too.
