dryer 150 degrees

I have a ge basic dryer it seems the unit cycles often and only heats to 150 degrees, is this type of dryer supose to get hotter than 150 degrees? the tstats are expensive like 80 bucks for the 3 different types. even before it gets to 150 it seems to cut on and off alot. this is all w/ the vent not connected to house so its not clogged up. has anybody worked on this model??? timer rotary temp switches, heat element, usually the elements either work or not work right??  tks  JPG     Happy new year !!!

Average Dryer temperatures are about 135F to 160F
but because of government energy requirements,
some (and your model) should cycle between 125F to 145F

NOTE: also check your Heating Element, it has (2) coils for heating.
If one is bad, it would take longer to dry.
