Have a 4 year old Sears/Whirlpool dishwasher that is making a very loud noise (metal on metal) when the pump is running. Pretty sure it is a bad bearing on the motor. I do not want to spend $320 to repair this as not sure worth spending this much money on this piece of junk.
I can buy the motor/pump assembly for $160. How difficult is it to replace this assembly? I am pretty handy so should be able to handle. Or should I just replace the bad bearing(s) on the motor for $25 in parts. I know this latter solution is a lot more work but could be a great way to kill some time.
