GFWH2400LWW Drum Bearing ?

Well I have a Ge Front load washer mod GFWH2400LWW  just coming up on 2 years old ...
making a whining noise on spin cycle, faster it goes the louder it gets ...spin the drum by hand you cna here it as well ...
Drum bearings ? are you kidding me ?

Nope,you are on the right track. Bearings are going.

 is this common being so new ? had a Neptune ran 15 years before it went ..

 are bearings able to be purchased .. I can only find rear drum assembly...

don't usually buy extended warranties maybe I should of this time ..

Bearings are easy to find, seals are tougher. Give GE a call, they'll probably give you a concession. 1-800-GE-CARES.
If they send you a new tub, get the numbers off the bearings and seal from your old tub.  I'll see if I can find them.

Thanks again for all the replys..

upon further investgation ,I find it to be the motor..took belt off no noise put belt back on got the noise ..motor bearing ..call GE wananty one year ..sell new for 384.50 plus shipping ,start bitching then i'm told they can do 20% off with free shipping ..Bitch some more  goes no where ..

motor part # WDDA 0305010000 any one know if this motor number will work in place of it  WMAA0305010000 look the same ..Thanks again ..Jeff

That's not much of a concession. You can buy it cheaper from Repairclinic.com or Appliancepartspros.com. I had a customer who got 50% off a rear tub and inner basket direct from GE. I don't see a part number change for that motor, can't say if the other motor will work. Oiling the bearings should quiet it down for a little while.
