Magic Chef Recharg

Simple question...

I have a Magic Chef refigerator that is operating fine, but just isn't cold. Most likely it needs a recharge of refigeratant. Is this something that a DIYer can do like recharging the a/c on your car? Can I run to Lowes and buy a can/kit or do I have to contact a service technician to do it for me.

Without all the proper equipment you need a tech.
Magic Chef is known for leaks in the Yoder loop sysytem.
I have successfully by-passed this system on MC style boxes before. The fridges have run leak free for many years after.
A good used fridge may be less expensive.
