Hotpoint oven thermostat removal and install

seasons greetings all,

First of all, i would like to say thank you for your time to help me. Our oven thermostat went out and my wife's uncle removed it from the oven. Unfortunately, i wasn't present to observe how it was removed so that i could install it exactly as it was. I have reconnected it but I'm still unsure if i installed it correctly. I have 2 mounting clips that i know I'm supposed to use. Ive tried looking up for 'blown up' schematics and i cant seem to find the right one. All I need is a picture or something that shows the thermostat location and how to mount it with its clips.

You slide the probe through a hole located on top the stove under the top burners. Careful not to kink it! You clip the probe to 2 mounts on the upper side of the oven. Looks like a 2 wire dude that works in conjunction with an ignitor and saftey valve. pretty simple repair.

Ive looked inside the oven and underneath the burners.The only small hole is way in the back of the oven. This thermostat wont reach that far. Do you have access to a manual for this particular model? I was hoping for a diagram of some sort that would show how to mount it. If not, I thank you in advance for your help and advice. Well I looked up the parts on the internet and the oven control seems to be a plain jane 2 wire type. Mounted on the stove in the usual place. Most of the time there is a hole you shove the probe into and run it down into the oven. Clip it to the side near the top. Look real close you will find it.

Thank you again for taking the time to help me. I'm extremely grateful. It was fortunate for me that my wife's uncle, the guy who originally took the thermostat off came by and installed it. It was as simple as you had said. Unfortunately though, before the thermostat was installed properly, I had attempted to cook a Christmas ham for the family and burned it due to the heat being incorrectly regulated. In doing so I sentenced myself to cooking dinner for a month. Go figure! Anyway, this site is extremely helpful and as I've said before, thank you for your time.
