Whirlpool or Maytag?

I was looking at some washers today and noticed a Maytag from load washer that said on the tag manufactured by Whirlpool.

What is the deal there? Maytag does not make there own front load washers or what?

Just about 9 months ago Whirlpool bought out Maytag.
