AJ, thanks for the edit!
So I had a repair technician come in to look at the machine. He thinks it is the relay as he couldn't hear any clicking sound as the relay cycled from wash to spin. Also, the relay had some green stuff in it, indicating copper corrosion. Also, he said that the "voltage was not getting through". So it looks like the relay which he will get tomorrow. But I am bit puzzled because he still seemed a bit unsure and said if the relay didn't solve the problem, he would look at the control board. I hope not but we will see.
At least it is not the transmission.
