Oven will not ignite

I have a maytag model pgr5715bdw that uses lp gas and the oven seems to take a very long time(approx 10 minutes) to ignite when set to bake. When I use the broil mode it lights up within minutes. I do see the ignitor glow red immediately when I set it to bake. Not sure what the problem is, any help would be appreciated.

Go grab a 12400035 ignitor kit and follw the instructions.

From looking at the picture of the ignitor, that seems to work fine, at least it glows red just like the one up top for the broiler. It seems I don't even hear gas for about 10 minutes when set to bake. Is there a different regulator or control for both the bake and broil settings?

The ignitors are the same part number. They act identically. Doesn't this tell you something?

The bake ignitor may glow, but unless you have a way of measuring amp draw, you won't be able to see if it has enough current to open the valve. Since you don't have a device like this (or you would have tried it), the next-best test of a bad ignitor is to count the seconds it takes to  open the gas valve after it begins to glow. On a healthy ignitor, the time span is under 60 seconds...always.  Take my advice and replace the ignitor.

They typically have a 3-5 year life span, depending on whether you are Betty Crocker or not

I will try the new ignitor. Thanks for the advice. Can I switch the broiler ignitor with the bake ignitor while I'm awaiting the arrival of the new one. We have some cooking we need to do on Christmas Eve.
