What is the best top load washer for under $600?

I want to buy a good washer without paying to much.
Could someone tell me what to look for in a washer.
I want something that will last me for the next 10 years.

Your best bet is going to be a direct drive Whirlpool. It's one of, if not the, best top load washer on the market today. Like any washer, things wear out. The Whirlpool washer is designed for easy repairs. Parts are readily available and not expencive.
