Whirlpool Duet Washer F11

I have a Whirlpool Duet washer, model # GHW9150PW0, (3 years old) that will come up with the fault F11. The fault is intermitten, you may be able to run 1 or 2 loads though the machine without faulting or you may get 1 or more F11 faults in one load. We replaced the water pump Monday as it was making a very loud noise when it was draining, that solved that problem. The F11 fault was coming up before pump replacement. I have checked most all wires at there connections for loose wires, both at components, CCU and MCU. The last load ran through it, faulted out 3 times (F11) and the only way I could get it to reset to start it back up was to unplug the #7 connection (Motor Control Unit Power) on the CCU. Other times when it faults out all you would have to do is press the Pause/Cancel button and start and it will start up and run. I did a continuity check on componets and found two things. One was the dispenser switch should of read 0 ohms but was open, should this be in and certain position for this test as it is in the number 2 position now? Second the door lock solenoid read 117 ohms and manual says 60 ohms? Would these two problems cause or contribute to the F11 fault problem or is there other places to look?

Perform the service tests mentioned in the tech sheet and in the Duet manual here on this website. You have a failure of the motor control or the main CCU, but which is the issue. There are specific service mode tests for each.

The dispenser swich must be closed to activate the cycle or run the machine.

Where can I locate these tech sheets and Duet manuals?
We did the self diagnostic test and ohm the components and everything seemed okay except the mentioned items above.

Dude f-11 means Communication error between the brain and the motor. Check all wiring harness connections for corrosion and tightness. I bet a quick connector probably back off a hair. Make sure all the connections are tight.

Thanks for the info on manual. I down loaded that manual a couple of days ago.
I think it is a loose connection or a little corrosion also, but have not found it yet. I will double check connections between the CCU and MCU and also at the motor.

At the end of the day, you will still need a new motor control, part # 8182706

Had the identical issue F11 with same type of washer ..an MCU cured the problem, part # 8182706

Whirlpool tech line say:

If the MCU does not slve the problem, replace the CCU, part # 8182695
Be sure to check the harness where it plugs into the motor, as the tachometer reading is not being processed at the CCU like it should. This translates into a potential motor problem, open harness someplace or a bad CCU. We know the MCU is working now.

Your motor leads can be tested from the MCU from the data in the tech sheet. There have been occasions where after the MCU and CCU have both been replaced, the harness also had to be ordered. Just tellin ya, it can happen...

Installed a new CCU and that seems to have solved the problem, so far no more faults. Thanks for all the help it is appreciated.
