Dishwasher door leak
« on: December 14, 2008, 10:16:46 PM »
Door drips from left bottom when late in cycle below soap dispensor and air vent. How do I remove the round inside vent plastic? If I remove the torx head screws, are there parts that are hard to reassemble? Does anything like that inside vent have to be removed first?
Thanks.

What kind of soap you using? Liquid dish detergent makes for leaks in these dishwashers.

If you wish to remove the screws around the inner door liner, please by all means do so. Then you can remove the door panel and inspect the area around the vent for  leaks. Traces of moisture can be seen on the inside of the door panel where the leak has been occurring. You'll also find the dispenser on the same side and is a frequent cause of leaks also. The round plastic port (#7) on the inner door covering the vent can be twisted  counter-clockwise to remove it from the vent diffusor (#5), but this is best done later after separating the door panels and inspecting the leaks first. Note the wax motor on the vent diffusor that must open to allow steam to escape during drying. The gasket around the vent diffusor is replaceable (#9). Type your model number into the lookup on the left side of this page to order any of the parts shown below:
