Washer will not spin. Timer runs through the cycle. Fills with water. On Spin and Rinse, you can hear connection (it wants to move) but belt nor motor spin.
Already checked and cleaned pump drain. Pulley drum has alot of carbon dust on spines. Drum will spin from activating belt and move from inside the drum.

lid switch intermittant

It is a front loading washer. There is a door light but no cover/lid switch. The light is lit and it runs through the cycle.

Is it a defective timer  $166, motor $154, or speed control board $168?

In 9 yrs, we replaced door latch $154, door lock $95, shell-rear/bearing $211, belt $38, and basket $281.

On this Frigidaire Gallery washer, it usually turns out to be the speed control. You should know from your past repair experience that there's a tech sheet under the front panel which explains how to test everything. If not, there's a Gallery manual around here someplace..

basically if you are getting 120 volts to the speed board and nothing runs, the board is probably bad.

No use in spending money on a 9 year old washer. Instead bought a Samsung FL. Thanks for your help.

yeah, why spend $125 on a part when you can throw $900 into a whole new problem child ?

Hopefully you got the extended warranty....
