whirlpool duet sport dryer

Had the pleasure today of changing the blower wheel on a whirlpool duet sport YWED8300SB0 dryer. In theory it looks pretty simple,take off the top ,console , front ,take out the drum . Heres where the problem started .The blower wheel has a half inch square in the front of it that accepts a half inch socket extension .Your supposed to put a wrench on the motor shaft and then the blower will spin off lickedy split. Yea right ..that puppy was seized on it was impossible to get off ..and yes I was turning in the correct direction.Finally the square was now round .Time for plan B  I had to smash the blower into little peices until I could get to the screwed on bearing and cut slots in it and finally break it free. A 30 minute job took almost 2 hours . . I felt like finding the closest whirlpool engineer and throttling him. Goes to show you when you plan your service route for the day a curve can be sent your way real fast..
