kenmore 70 series washer not spinning

I have a kenmore 70 series washer that will not spin! I have checked everything that I have been able to find online that may be causing it. I checked the motor coupling it looked almost brand new so it's not that, I replaced the lid switch and the clutch, so it's not those either. The washer fills, agitates, drains, and rinses all in the right order and when it is supposed to according to the timer, so I don't think it is the timer, the hose pressure switch, or the water level switch. The only thing the washer won't do is spin the tub! I took the agitator assembly out and then ran the spin cycle, the drive tube spins as fast as it should, but it does not engage the tub! I have no idea what is causing this, and I can not find anything online that refers to this particular problem. PLEASE help!

If replaced the clutch assy as you said and the upper spin tube still does not turn when the clutch plate does, then you need the basket drive tube above it. Always come prepared with your model number if you ask a technical question, thanks.

The upper spin tube and the basket drive tube are both spinning during the spin cycle. The drive tube is not catching on the tub. What could be causing this? Is there something on the drive tube that should be engaging the tub? The model number of my washer is 110.26752501. Thanks

Yeah, the drive tube has 2 tabs on it which engage the tub block. Remove the agitator and see if the 2 tabs are worn off.

Okay,thanks! I'll check that as soon as I get home. If the two tabs are worn down I will have to replace the whole drive tube/brake assembly, is that correct?
