I needed to replace a motor coupler on my machine, never having worked on a washer before, I lowered the gear case before I discovered I didn't need to. I never undid the actual gear case itself, merely lowered it off the 3 mounting dowels.
I then unclipped the motor, replaced the coupler, re-fitted it back onto the gear case, then had a bit of a problem getting the gear case to go back onto the 3 mounting dowels...........it seemed to go solid? After a bit of jiggling around, I managed to get it mounted in place and tight.
But it now seems to me, that with everything now connected...........should I be able to rotate the agitator by hand? The agitator spins freely clockwise without moving the bottom part, but anti clockwise it is solid and I am unable to move the agitator. Perhaps this is correct? I do not want to re-connect the power and turn in on in case I've done something wrong and it breaks something else.
HELP!!!!
