Can I convert an over-under refrigerator freezer to a over under freezer by removing the thermostaticly operated damper thus completly opening the freezer to the lower compartment?

Compressors are not designed to run 100% of the time. I don't think it would last very long.

I have done it to make a deermeat locker. all you need is a freezer thermostat. A universal freezer control will be about 50 bucks! I will be driving down the road and see an old freezer and grab the thermostat off of it. Save fifty bucks.
