magic chef gas range

my magic chef range has a norton 501-a ign-3 ignitor. the bad one has a 4" ceramic base and all the replacements are much shorter. is this a problem?

No. Go ahead and use the short one. Those are mainly generic and as long as you use the flat base(not the round) you are good to go.

Use a 12400035 Whirlpool/Maytag & it will come with the instructions,much easier to do. It will come with an insulation packet which if you have a self clean you want to use.
