Maytag does not make that head, Admiral did. Where's your model number?
There are no diagrams floating around for these as they were eliminated in 1994 for the heat-release icemakers. There's no way to bench test this type of unit. When it is installed in the customers refrigerator, you can manually start a cycle and test the unit by pressing the lower tab on front while tipping the tray slightly clockwise until it starts running on its own..
Tell your customer that icemakers have to be in their original freezing environment to properly test them. If your customers freezer temps were over 18 o
F. then the icemaker would shut down anyway.
Maytag did away with this design and the new replacement is a heat-release icemaker
. The conversion kits are available. As far as I know, the heads are no longer available for this one.
