Calypso washing machine

Have a Calypso washer that is 5 years old.  Having problems, I think it may be with the spin cycle.  Use it all day long and it works fine until about the 5th or 6th load then when it reaches the rinse & spin cycle it does start to spin for a couple seconds then it stops, acts like it doesn't have enough power to spin.  It makes a hum noise for about 6 seconds, stops, then does it again and again, all the while the timer never changes ie:  stays at 24 seconds for a half hour.  If it's turned off and sits for a half hour then when its started back up it works.  Could this be an electrical problem?  Replaced the u-joint about a year ago.

More than likely a binding of the u-joint again. Perform motor test #3 when you get to the Diagnostics.
