Maytag Atlantis Model (MAV9501EWW) Will Not Start

In the middle of a wash cycle our Maytag Atlantis washer, model - MAV9501EWW, stopped, all attempts to start it have been unsuccessful. I have checked power to the washer including, outlets, fuses and circuit breaker, all are up and operational. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any recommendations?

Sounds like your lid switch may have gone out. Can you turn the timer to another cycle and see if it works.

I was able to turn the timer to another cycle, same results, it won't start.

Take a small screwdriver and push in on the lid switch.

Just tried that, it did not work.

You'll need an Ohm meter to check the lid switch. If it checks good it might be in the timer. Is the tub full of water?

Yes, the water is still sitting in the tub.

You can pick up a cheep one at any home center. Try taking some water out of the tub, then try spin. Can you hear the motor humming? Will the timer advance by itself ? Try pushing the timer knob in and out a few times then with the timer knob pulled out lift up and down on it with a little force but not enough to break it and see what it does.
