No Water or Ice
« on: November 14, 2008, 10:52:29 AM »
Kenmore first started intermittently dispensing water, then quit dispensing water, then started making smaller ice cubes, then quit making ice.  Suggestions please?

Shelling is a sure sign of a water valve gone bad. One way to see if your water valve is bad is to do this simple test: Make yourself a test cord out of an discarded 120v power cord such as an old lamp cord. Put some aligator clips on the cord for simple tests. Unplug the quick connect to the water valve and hook the clips to the valve. Apply wall current to the valve for a sec and see if any water squirts out. Be careful not to shock yourself.

You were spot on with the solution.  $50.06 and 12 minutes later, water and ice.  Many, many thanks.
