Kitchenaid dishwasher makes buzzing sound when pump kicks on

My dishwasher makes a loud buzzing sound right before the pump kicks on.  It sounds like the motor is struggling to start, but the noise goes away and the pump runs normally after a second or two.  Could this be a bad capacitor?  I am grateful for any suggestions.
