Broiler won't light

I have a Whirlpool Gold slide in range, and it has been a real lemon.  I had to have the fan replaced due to noise, and the computer/control panel replaced because it went out (last year, just before christmas!) and now, the broiler won't light.

I hear the gas come on, igniter going off (snap! snap! snap!), but no 'whoosh' of the burner igniting.  If I open the oven door, I get a nice big whiff of unburned gas.

I suspect that the igniter is just dirty or something, but don't know for sure what the best way to clean it is.  I tried running a self cleaning cycle, but that didn't do anything.

It isn't like I have been cooking steaks or burgers under the broiler, I usually just use it to brown a sandwich or some fries.

So, any ideas on what to clean this thing with?

Their are 2 igniters, one for bake,one for broil. I think maybe you gonna need to replace the broil one.Looks like it ain't but $18 and some change.

How much trouble is it to replace?  I see the one screw that holds it in, but wonder where the electrical connection goes to...

It goes to an expensive control board in the console. This is a spark ignition, right?

That electrode is looking for a path to ground thru the flame which is supposed to occur when it clicks. If gas is flowing the spark should initiate a lighting of the burner. The board controls the spark.

To test the electrode, I sometimes swap it with the bake electrode and check it again. If the broiler does not light, replace the board as the spark output is not significant enough.
