The glides mount on the bearing which is basically the inner front panel.
The rear end of the drum rides on a center bearing with a plastic hub. The plastic gets thinner and thinner and begins to squeal like worp... worp... worp.When the front wears down their is a scraping/rubbing sound. Open the ddryer door and remove the 2 screws up top that hold down the top. then the top will come off so you can get to the screws that hold the front on. Get the front off and inspect it. Get the drum out and clean it. You may find enough change to pay for the repairs. :D

Hi,

That noise you describe sounds very familiar.  It occurred about a year ago and ended up having (if my memeory serves correct) the bearing unit and pully idler replaced.
