I'm the lady from the UK Whitegoods site with the above problem. As these machines are pretty rare over here but common over there, I'd like to ask someone with hands on experience if you really think it's definitely the motor?
I press the on button, it makes the usual noise, then cuts out after one second. There's no movement in the drum
It's just that it has also been suggested that it could be a fluff build up that is causing it to cut out as a safety measure. I'm just so confused.
One remedy seems expensive, the other inexpensive.
I just want to gather as much information as I can to ascertain if it's worth reparing. A motor does sound expensive. Also, don't want to call the repair guy out only to be told it's not cost effective to fix, then be hit with a £50 call out charge for the pleasure!
I would really appreciate your advice.
