There is a safety thermostat on the magnetron that will interrupt power to the control board if high temps are reached or an overload occurs. Chances are the problem is more serious, since this is a safety measure to prevent a fire.Unless you have personal ties to this unit, find a new one at Home Depot or someplace and replace it. A bad mag tube will cost more than this one is worth.
I have a 4 year old Frigidaire Electrolux Over the Range Microwave that keeps shutting off a few seconds after starting. The display starts to flicker slightly and then it shuts off. The only way to get it to operate is to reset the clock. After 3 or 4 times resetting the clock it will stay running. Everything else works perfectly. Haven't had any power fluctuations. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
