KGRC608 Gas Range

The Bake and Broil Functions for the oven do not work.  I've read several blogs and understand that this is a common problem for this model, especially after using the Self-Cleaning function.

Should I replace the electronic motherboard?  If yes, please provide instructions and part(s) number.

Try removing the board and cleaning the contacts.Check the sensor quick connect for corrosion.

Like all Whirlpool made ranges with self-clean, this one has a safety thermostat inside the front console which will open under high-heat conditions. Most likely this is all that's keeping the oven from working. The part is shown below, and you can look it up by model number and description (thermo,fix)

Yikes!  OK, pardon me for my ignorance as a newbie girl here but how do I open the console to replace this part?  Or even open it to check the sensor quick connect for corrosion.

It there a 'map' or instructions?  Should I just call for service?

No offense, but there's no way to teach appliance repairs here. I'm just giving you a head's up on the problem. How you solve it will be your decision based on your technical savvy. It looks like the device sells for around $40 so figure that into the cost of a local service all.
