Maytag Pump and Belt

I have a maytag washer, SAV405D. My son overloaded it and the belt broke. Using your directions and pics, I replaced the belt and reassembled. Now that's it's back together it spins, agitates, but won't drain. I pulled the motor and pump again. Both inlet and outlet hoses are clear. The impellor spins when the motor runs. I can see it where the hose connects. Any idea why it won't pump water?

make sure the belt is around the tensioner pulley properly

since it is a direct drive pump it should not matter if the belt is on there or not. Look inside the hoses for an obstruction. If he overloaded it he may have dumped some small item between the inner and outter tub and it has made it's way to the drain (tub to pump) hose
