I am building a new laundromat and am confused on why I always see the double stack dryers against a plain wall. Can you put windows behind the dryers. Do they work better when they have no windows?

You generally see them against a wall to  hide the venting and rear utility connections on the machines. A window behind the dryers would serve what purpose?

I am located in the pacific. It would be to keep the room cooler.

If the view from outside thru those windows is not an issue then sure, why not?

Here in the States, this is done mainly for  cosmetic reasons or aesthetic ones.  It will not affect the operation of the machines to have windows all around them..the more airflow, the better
