Kenmore Fridge 25368832792 defrost prob

I noticed one day water leaking from bottom of fridge, and upon moving fridge out from wall, a copious amount poured out. T he next thing i noticed was the defrost was not defrosting, and a snow-like buildup in freezer. Fridge and freezer staying cold, but am not sure if i should start to look at the timer, or the heating coil for probable malfunctioning part. I also noticed that the evaporation tray on top of compressor unit was totally dry.

Combination problem. Your defrost is not working for reasons as yet unknown, and to complicate matters, the condensate drain line may be frozen up. If he drain is blocked, defrost water will run into the refrigerator instead of out the drain tube to the pan.

If one of the door gaskets is not closing for whatever reason, the incoming warm air will cause frost  in the freezer. In this case, your defrost system cannot defend itself and excess rime forms on the rear cover and fan area. Check the door seals and take the  freezer back and floor panels off to acces the area  where the  coils drain.  Type your model number into the lookup on the left to see your fridge in different views.

  Thanks for the info, i am leaning towards blocked line, heating unit works.

Here's a standard Frigidaire service manual for their top-mount units. Should be fairly simiar in detail to your Kenmore label.  Might come in handy.
