my fridge does not defrost..the water collects on bottom of freezer and has to be manually removed.  also..there is a blue wire hanging from the back of the ice maker, it has a female end on it but I cannot figure where it goes..any help would be greatly appreciated...

The icemaker on this unit should not have any blue wires. There is a blue and a pink wire going to the defrost heater, though. Maybe it came loose.

Your condensate drain is frozen up as well. Remove the back panel inside the freezer to  expose the  coils and  thaw out the drain trough. You can use steam or very hot water to speed this up. A  quick check of the  defrost heater and thermostat with your OHM meter will confirm their situation.
