Frigidaire Dishwasher wont run normal cycle

My Frigidaire Dishwasher (Model MDB212RBS0) wont run the normal cycle properly.  It starts making noise, like it is filling for a a minute or so. . . and then nothing.  The Pots and Pans cycle seems to work fine.  Is this the timer?  Could it be something else?  Would like to be sure before I spend the $115.0  to replace it. . ..

It could be the selctor switch instead of the timer. You'll have to do some reading  in the Service Manual before you can answer that question for yourself. If you own a  volt/ohm meter, this will be a quick study.
