OK what if I had 2 cheater cords. One hooked to B and C
The other hooked to A and D. I simutaineously plug both in at the same time but quickly unplug the start winding. That would make it go in one direction. Then I would let the motor come to a halt leave the run winding cord in the same position But this time I flip the start winding cheater cord and insert them both at the same time, quickly removing the start winding once again. The motor would then be turning in the opposite direction. Do you agree with that?

I guess voters can now rate you + or -  (wasn't me) on any post.

I don't know if they can give you a + on each different Topic.

JW,

You don't see it because you can not [applaud] or [smite] yourself.
Each member can [applaud] or [smite] any other member karma one time, then they should not see the [applaud] or [smite] for that member anymore.

Just playing around with the Karma setting and may change things down the road, but that is how it works for now.

Hope you find our site helpful.

Thank you JWWebster for the diagram. I couldn't understand it but I have a brother that works on computers that figured it out. I was wrong about the compressor, it did have to turn a certain direction. But that wasn't a problem you just have to reverse the red and brown wires. :D JWWebester Rules !!!  :o

Here's how it looks hooked up to your test cord:

Did you make your own test cord? Waddaya use...alligator clips, or "plug-N-play" terminals?

Plug-n-Play would work if you could find on old junk Maytag washer, but not all Motors would be the same plug...

If you could find some nice insulated aligator clips...

Hey Guys !

That schematic of the Maytag A606 was a real help,  O0   except it's missing some critical 'legend" info... like what does the 2-4-6-8-10-12 and the T vs B mean.  I assume it's something to do w the controller timer.  It sure would be nice to know what exact timer connections are supposed to be at the various cycle times.

I have the CAP EXPORT MODEL with the more complicated motor connections and I need to test it.   As the schematic shows, there are 6 wires FROM the main timer into the "relay/switching mechanism" and 6 wires going FROM the "relay/switching mechanism" into the motor itself.    Looks like brown-red controls the start (and thus the direction) however,  the "slow" v "reg" centri switch is a little fuzzy,   :-\ so possibly yellow-orange or yellow-black supplies the run voltage.  ?!?
