The kit comes with a new spline and everything. Does it not? By the way how DOES the dang agitator come off? Good pics . have a pic of how dat old agimatator comes off bucko? :2funny:

Turn this screw 2 full turns CCW and the whole thing lifts off easily. The  spline is not included, nor is it necessary. Dependable Care splines are Teflon coated and you will rarely find one that is corroded.

you are correct as usual RM I do not know why I thought the spline came with it. I just did one not long ago.

I think there was once a tranny kit for the old orbital transmission that used to require a new agitator. In fact a blue agitator came with it. Later they changed the kit to swap out the shaft for the agitator instead.

That's the problem, O sublime One....

 You  can beat the old part out of there any old way you want, but at the end of the day you still have to install a pristeen set of new parts that require the spanner wrench. The idea is to properly tighten it down without knocking all the porcelain off the spin basket.





Does that nut come off clockwise or counter clockwise. There are instructions both ways.

Maytag seal nuts have a left-hand thread. This means you turn it clockwise to remove.  You do not use a pipe wrench, despite the bad advice you may have heard.
