Repair Help... Broken Spade Terminal SEE PHOTO
« on: January 08, 2017, 02:15:02 AM »
Hello,
I was changing the heating coil/element and this female terminal part that was on the electrical lead to the heating element broke.

Can someone point me in the right direction for the proper repair. I would like to just put a new terminal one but having trouble finding them on the internet. I don't know if my wording is wrong when I do the search.

any help much appreciated,
Brad

Hi, Female spade connectors are a few dollars for a few anywhere or by the hundred at a wholesaler. Hardware store, Radio Shack etc.
Cut off that piece on the wire losing the least amount of wire. Take it with you to the store so you get the correct gauge crimp connector.
16 gauge, 18 gauge etc

Having had the same experience a few months back be sure to take the damaged spade connector end with you . The terminals for the heating coils are slightly bigger than std ones. You may not find them at a local store so be selective in searching the store inventory.

thanks for the links. I found that jumper with connector. Id rather replace just the quick disconnect terminal if possible.

also that second link you provided says...The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

My local hardware stores, appliance place don't have the size I need. The guy at appliance store acted like he never heard of that size. It is a bigger blade, like what was mentioned in previous post. It is a 5/16". I was hoping one of you appliance junkies had a quick link to the right connector.

I think maybe the biggest thing in searching for this connector size is converting it to decimal. Search .312 instead of 5/16.
