I recently bought a Taylor Remote Probe Thermometer with Timer. I used it on my 12 pound Thanksgiving turkey. I placed the probe inside the breast and I did not touch the bone with the probe.
However, after 1 hour and 20 minutes, the thermometer reading registered 165 degrees in the breast. The turkey should take about 3 hours and it definitely was not baked after 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Could anyone give me an idea what the problem could be? Could it be the thermometer or could it be the oven? [My oven is almost 40 years old (I live in an apartment).]
