That's an excellent suggestion. The worst part of the whole dryer fiasco was we couldn't return the coil set and get our 32 bucks back.Since this was our first time dealing with this sort of thing we didn't know.We called and asked if we could return the set and pay the difference/exchange for a different part we may have needed after testing. They were like,"Sorry. No can do!" We were going to use the tester and go from there but then we thought what if the same thing happens again and we buy another part that isn't what we need and can't return?? We hauled the old one away and I gave it to a guy at work who's dad takes things apart for parts and sells them.So we contributed to his appliance parts shop which is good. Anyway, the 200 bucks we put out for the new one is nothing compared to the almost 2,000 bucks we spent 6 months ago for the washer/dryer in our home! THANKS AGAIN to an awesome helpful site!!  :D

I will try to post this here before starting a new thread, but I am having the same problem with my 70 Ser gas dryer.  I have replaced the 2 coils, but still nothing.  I was reading about testing the OHMs of the thermal fuse and I am not sure if I am doing it right.

I am kind of new to the fluke meter, but I think i have it on OHMS.  When I test the two terminals, the meter makes a noise and will jump around as far as the numbers on it go.  I have seen it as high as 50 but it usually settles down to 1, and then to 0, but still beeps....

Am I testing the correct part the correct way?

I get no glow at all from the coils.  I replaced them.   What is next?

Thanks

Based on your I reading on that high limit and from what those tutorials teach I would say that limit of yours is bad. Do you concur?
