I was just given a very old Maytag gas dryer with model number DG308 to see if I could fix it. The motor rotates but the belt was off and no heat was present. It appears that the ignitor is bad, This looks like an original circular wound coil type ignitor and the connectors are hooked into the rest of the wire arrangement using crimped type connectors instead of plugs. I am looking for advice as to how to put a flat blade type ignitor in to this old dryer as I dont think the circular type is available . If the circular wound ignitor is avalable (p/n ? and source) I will still have to connect it into the wiring and these crimped connectors cannot be reused in my opinion. Any advice on this old dog as regards repair ?
