How do you initiate defrost in a ge refrigerator that has the circuit board but does not have the digital numbers? This refrigerator has control knobs.

Try turning off and on the control knob 5 times within 10 seconds.

This unit has a main boad in back that responds to the turning controls. These are actually encoder boards behind the knobs.
