French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator has an issue
« on: May 05, 2014, 02:08:19 PM »
Hi, my name is Mario and I have a problem with my Maytag MFI2568AES refrigerator. I have an issue, refrigerator is too warm, freezer is fine.

Here are the symptoms:
- There is a buildup of frost in the evaporator coils.
- The evaporator fan SEEMS (I'm not sure) not to be working.
- Ice maker does not work.
- All buttons on display works
- When pushing the dispenser yoke (either on water mode or ice mode), it does not make a move, nor the dispenser sounds, nor the motor of the ice dispenser sounds. Furthermore, when LOCK mode is on, when pushing the dispenser yoke, it does not make a beep.
- When connecting and disconnecting the refrigerator, ice dispenser door flaps one time.
- When opening the rear part of the refrigerator (where the compressor is), the start-dev (Part number: AP5787784) was burnt and pretty damaged.

Although I replaced the start-dev and the evaporator fan all the symptoms above are still going on.  :'( :'( :-\ :-\

Any ideas about this?
Thanks in advance,

Mario.

Thanks for the manual and your responses, by "defrost problem", what do you mean? You think it could be the control board? Cause the evaporator fan is a newly one and the evaporator coils work, its just that air doesn't goes upward, ice maker doesn't work.
Thanks.

There has been a lot of problems with this H.V.C board and is out of stock in a lot of different part places.

The refrigerator gets its cooling from the freezer and if the fan is not working or the coil is frosted over the air cannot get into refrigerator section.

I have checked the voltage. Voltage ranges from 6 to 10 volts, the motor is new. I don't get what it is. I entered service mode via the display buttons. I'm getting crazy!!!

May want to check the damper operation too.
I just had one today that while running the evap fan on Hi and checking the damper door function there was no airflow from the tower. The damper assembly needs to be replaced in this instance.

The damper works fine too, I run it on Service Mode, like the manual "dab147315" thankfully gave me.

mine too said it was open in dignostic... but there was no airflow so just put your hand over the tower with the evap fans set to on and see if you feel any air.

All theses problems are in common with a bad H.V board that if you buy it from the post above and it does not work you can return it for a full refund.I know its on back order.Less shipping .Evap.Fan get 6 volts,Dispenser does not work.If damper is working ok or not fan needs proper voltage to work.
