LSQ9010PW2 Whirlpool Washer

Customer complains of water leaking on floor. Did all checks on washer and found no leaks but did discover splashover even when water level was set to lowest level during agitation. Washer was purchased 4/19/05. Is their anything I can do to prevent splash over. Machine is on old floor and has some vibration in spin but this is not when the leakage seems to occur. Thanks for any help.

Shipping pins been removed?Their are 3 of these below the washer attached to the base. All you gotta do is bend them and they fall straight out. They stop movement of the base plate during shipping. Left in they cause excessive vibration.click in the 2nd picture to enlarge and look at the 3 oclock position. The shipping pin is still in place.

All shipping pins are removed, This machine seems to have a very hard agitation. The agitator is not loose. Again splashover only occurs during agitation. Thanks

By nature this machine has a strong oscillation when agitating, and every machine will splash water on  the low level with no clothes in the basket.  That being said, your most likely culprit for intermittent leaks on this machine is the pump. Remove the cabinet and inspect the face of the pump which is toward the motor and look carefully for traces of dried water tracks under the center seal. Usually you can visualize the mineral tracks of a past leak.

Other causes for intermittent leaks are water valves which stick open once in awhile and overfill. Usually this occurs on the cold side since it is not protected from sediment as the hot side which passes thru the water heater first.

It could be your balancing ring is wore out. Rare but does happen.
