Error code 40 on Oasis Elite Dryer

My dryer is less than two years old. Pulled out the tech sheet and put the dryer into diagnostic mode. Only one fault (F-40) which is Communication error between the machine control and the motor control circuit cards. Went to test 3b on page 8 of the tech sheet. Checked all the harnesses in steps 2-3 and 4. Pulled the MC2 connector from the motor control board and read  the resistance from pins 1-3, 3-5 and 1-5 and resistance was right at 57.6 ohms for all three (within limits). Removed the front panel and checked the blower motor harness (looks like new) Took the dryer outside and blew all the lint out with my compressor. Checked the blower and it rotates perfectly. After all that it says to replace the motor control electronic assembly. I ordered one and received it today and installed it. SAME problem exists. Error code F-40. I have all the lights, beeps and tones, just won't start. Any suggestions......PLEASE.......MM

Now you replace the machine control. A 'communication error' means the machine control is not getting a signal to the motor control. I assume you ohm'ed out the motor as well.

No, I did not ohm out the motor. I did not find any directions to do that. These boards don't come cheap. When I tell my wife that now I need to change out the machine control......oh boy. Why would the tech sheet specifically direct me to change the motor control and not the machine contol?  THX   MM

The tech sheet explains how to check the motor. As far as being sheepish about changing the wrong board, don't sweat it. Even seasoned technicians do this all the time in the field if they don't verify where the exact problem lies. Too many times the tech sheet is just a general guide and will not cover every eventuality. Some things are left up to speculation unless you start OHMing everything involved to spec.

It also is not the first time more than one part fails, especially when they are interconnected.
