Washing Machine jumps around on spin cycle and leaks

I am realizing now that I should have done some further homework before buying this model as it seems to have lots of issues. After only owning it for 4mos we had to have the motor replaced!!

Anyway - now it is bouncing all over the place on the spin cycle. Like jumping all around and when it is done it is usually a foot or so from its original position and turned in a different direction. It is also leaking all over the place! We have had to stop using it until we are able to decide if we can fix it or not but the trips to get laundry done with 2 little ones is really a hastle. PLEASE HELP!  

Any ideas on what the problem is? My hubby is pretty handy so I am hoping he can fix it as it is only just over a year old.

Check the 4 dampener straps on top of the tub. There's nothing wrong with this model despite what you read. Everyone gripes about their little problems on the web and you will hears stuff on every subject under the sun. It does not mean you made a bad choice in washing machines

Thanks for the quick reply! The straps seem to be fine but what we did notice were some brackets that were on the bottom that have holes that seem to match up with brackets that come down from the motor. There is nothing holding these together and it was our theory that if there were maybe the tub wouldn't be able to slam against the sides...? Let me know your thoughts.

The brackets you pictured are the factory shipping mounts which are not used after the machine is installed.

If the dampener straps are OK and the suspension rods are also OK, that leaves only a couple of possibilities. Either the pump is not draining the tub within 70 seconds, or the clutch is spinning the tub when it is not supposed to, causing the extreme off balance condition and leaking from water being driven oveer the top of the tub centrifugally. Normally, the tub is supposed to drain out most of the water before beginning a hi-speed spin. If something  causes the water to remain too long, or if the transmission goes into an aggressive spin, your results will be what you show.

You can determine if the pump is the culprit by filling the tub, then switch to spin and time the discharge. If all the water is not gone in less than 70 seconds, replace the pump or find out what's got it clogged up.
