Kenmore Range codes

I have a Kenmore model number 110.9580200 glasstop range. It displays a trouble code of "E2-F2" and then the oven stops working. Does anyone know what this code means? It is not covered in my owners manual. Thanks

Hi,

Your missing three digits in front of the model number you give.

The model number should be something like ***.9580200

The first three digits will tell us who manufactured the appliance for sears.

It is 665. Made by Whirlpool I guess.

Should also be eight digits after the decimal point, you only have seven.

When does it display the E2-F2?



Does the bake element come on and get hot?

Does the oven make it through preheat?

What can you do after the E2-F2 comes up on the display? Can you cancel it or do you have to unplug the oven to clear it?

I could not find anything on E2-F2 error code, but any of the whirlpool range error codes that include F2 in them are related to the touch pad or membrane switch.


1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).

2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

Parts for model 665.95802000 I had to add another zero to the end of your model number to look up parts. Please check to see if that is correct with your model number.

Ok First of all let me say thanks for all the help guys. Now to try to answer the questions. The "e2-f2" code will set at anytime I don't have to be using it. When it does some of the times it starts beeping like morse code and don't stop untill I turn the breaker off then back on. When I go to use it if the code is set most times, until today, i could hit the stop button and it would go off and then I could use the oven. Today it started the pre=heat and then in like 5 seconds it kicks off and displays the code. And this unit is about 7 years old.

Sounds like a bad keypad/membrane switch.
